Small Electrical Projects Done Carefully and Correctly
Not every electrical task requires calling an electrical contractor. We handle select electrical maintenance and upgrade projects — switches, outlets, dimmers, GFCI replacements, and outdoor lighting — performed carefully by skilled handymen for straightforward residential tasks that don't require a licensed electrician.
Select Electrical Maintenance & Upgrade Projects
Many common electrical tasks in a home — replacing a switch, upgrading an outlet, installing a dimmer or GFCI — don't require extensive electrical knowledge or a full electrical contractor. They do require someone who works carefully, understands what they're doing, and won't cut corners. That's what we offer: a skilled, careful handyman for the electrical tasks that fall within that range.
Switch & Power Outlet Replacement
Worn, discolored, or non-functional switches and outlets replaced with new units — standard, decora, or USB-integrated styles. We match your existing plate style, work safely with the circuit de-energized, and test before we leave.
Dimmer Switch Installation
Replace a standard on/off switch with a dimmer to add ambiance, reduce eye strain, and lower energy use. We select the right dimmer type for your fixture load (LED, CFL, or incandescent) and install it cleanly with a matching plate.
Flood Light Replacement
Outdoor flood lights that no longer work or need upgrading to motion-sensing or LED models. We replace the fixture, ensure proper weatherproofing, and test operation — interior replacement of existing flood light fixtures as well.
GFCI Outlet Installation
GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) outlets are required in bathrooms, kitchens, garages, and outdoor locations — and many older homes are missing them. We replace standard outlets with GFCI units in locations where they're required or where you want added protection.
USB & Tamper-Resistant Outlet Upgrades
Upgrade standard outlets to tamper-resistant models (required in homes with children) or USB-integrated outlets that eliminate the need for plug adapters at frequently used charging locations — kitchens, bedside, home offices.
Light Fixture Replacement
Replace an existing overhead fixture, ceiling fan, or wall sconce with a new unit — same location, same wiring. Supplied by you or sourced through us. We install, connect, and test; you enjoy the upgrade without the ladder work.
What We Don't Do
We don't perform panel work, new circuit installation, service upgrades, or any work requiring a licensed electrical contractor. If your project falls outside our scope, we'll tell you clearly — and we can refer you to a qualified electrician. We'd rather be honest about scope than take on work we're not qualified to perform.
Done Carefully. Documented. Backed in Writing.
Electrical work — even simple projects — needs to be done correctly. Here's how we approach every electrical task to make sure it's safe and properly done.
Scope Confirmed Before We Start
We assess the task before quoting. If it's outside our scope, we tell you before we start — not after we've opened the wall. No surprises, no unnecessary callbacks.
Circuit De-Energized Before Work
Every electrical task begins with the circuit properly de-energized and verified. No shortcuts — we test before touching and test after completion.
Quality Components Only
We use commercial-grade switches, outlets, and hardware — not the cheapest option available. Quality components last longer and perform more reliably.
Fully Documented
Every task photographed before and after. Complete electronic records of work performed and components installed — your home's maintenance history, always accessible.
Written Warranty
Every project backed in writing. If a switch or outlet we installed fails due to our workmanship, we return and correct it at no cost.
Flat-Rate Pricing
Quoted price is final price. We assess the scope and provide a firm number before work begins — no hourly billing, no surprises on the invoice.
The ServiceBeaver Standard
Every electrical task we take on is within our confirmed scope, done carefully, documented, and backed in writing.
Honest Scope Assessment
We take on select electrical maintenance and upgrade projects — and we're clear about the line. If your project needs a licensed electrician, we tell you.
Flat-Rate, No Surprises
Your quote is your price. No hourly billing, no add-ons — complete transparency before work begins.
Written Warranty
Every installation backed in writing. If it fails due to our workmanship, we return and correct it at no cost.
Fully Documented
Before-and-after photos and complete electronic work records — every task on your home, tracked.
