What is a typical day in a handyman’s life?
Well, there is no typical day in the life of a handyman! every day is different because every project is different!
One day you may be doing carpentry, the next drywall, and the following you may be doing a special project that nobody else wants to do. Almost every day you will use your imagination to solve a problem for our customers.
What its common on each day? you are able to positively affect people’s life! solve problems! build! create!
And here how a typical day in a handyman’s life starts:
-
Start-time

The starting time every day can vary, since we offer our customers flexibility to adjust to their schedule one day may start later or earlier than the other. Typically you can see though work hours to start between 7:30 to 8:30AM.
-
Schedule
Typically you will have two, no more than three service calls depending on the scope of work and location. As you work through the day you will be able to notify customers your anticipated arrival time, start time, completion time, and more using our service app.
-
Onsite visit
Alright! rubber meets the road. Now onsite you review the field service application, check the background on the visit, needs, scope of work, and other customer-provided details.
You greet the customer, learn more details about the project, history, desired outcome, and other important details that matter to our customer. Armed with that information you evaluate options and build a solution for the customer. In some cases, multiple solutions may be possible.
With one or multiple solutions you now reconnect with the customer, describe everything you learned, the recommended action path, and estimated cost.
Customer will often have questions, you will address them, walk them through the solution and anticipated results. Customer will then make a decision and you will proceed to execute!
-

– We secure customer’s approval, and only start working after they approve.
– We capture pictures before, during, and after the job.
– At all moments we communicate with customer, what we are doing, how we are progressing, and let them ask questions.
– We ensure that the job is completed to the customer’s expectations, and secure their approval when finished.
– We clean the area and ensure that there are no signs of our visit.
– We finalize the visit collecting payment and closing the work order.

Building solutions – Parts and Materials
Jobs often will require parts, and part of your job will be to identify the closest location carrying them. You will typically drive to the location, purchase the right parts, and bring them back to the job site for execution.
We at ServiceBeaver pay particular care on the choice of parts and materials, ensuring that we only use reliable products from reputable manufacturers and processing centers.
As a lead handyman you will decide what parts and products will be the best fit for a robust, reliable, and lasting solution.
-
Leveraging technology – Tools
We do not like to improvise, if there is technology available we will use it! At your disposal you will have a full set of tools, of different sizes, and different capacities. These tools are selected to empower your maximum productivity and optimized job execution for our customers.
Why? because tools not only allow you to work efficiently, but also allow you to safeguard the customer’s property and the materials and products that you install.
Specialty tools will also allow you to operate safely, control forces, and accomplish much more than you could when you execute projects unaccompanied.
-
Your mobile office – Service Vehicle 5S
You will have a field service vehicle, which may be a service van, a pick-up truck, or an inspection SUV/sedan.
Your field service vehicle will allow you to visit customers and transport tools, parts, materials, and at times, other team members.
Keeping your service vehicle clean and organized will be part of your daily routine, it will be a point of pride to show customers the resources that are at their disposal every time they call us.
-
Safety – EH&S
From the beginning of your day, to the moment when you finish your work day you will operate following safe work practices, our policies, and ensuring the well-being of our communities and environment.
In the end, the day will only be a great day when you come back home to your loved ones same as you left, or better! and also, that customers, their loved ones, and property were safe throughout our interactions.
